I had forgotten that we had to give the Gates test today. At least it is keeping them busy right now. They are working pretty hard, even though they have the wiggles today.
We started a novel this morning, Esperanza Rising, and I think they will enjoy it. I got everyone a copy of the book through Scholastic, so we are all reading together. I am hoping that the book will last until the second-to-last week of school. I enjoy doing a novel with them much more than reading the short reading selections from the reading book.
I have training tonight for Exchange City. The training is for the volunteers, but all of the fifth grade teachers are going just in case some of the volunteers do not show. I also want to go just to see if we are forgetting anything. :-) I think we will do much better next year if we do this again. The kids are getting excited about going. This afternoon we are going to write friendly letters for the Post Office to mail once we get there on Friday. The Post Office has to have something to do while we're there!
Okay, one of my kids is making me laugh. He just had his scissors out, so I scowled at him (I knew he was about to cut on his wart). He put his scissors away then realized that he had asked me to move him and another student to sit together, so he quickly laid his head on his desk and looked at me like an angel. He and the other kid are just sitting there, the little angels, with their heads down, looking at me. :-) I can't help but smile every time I look at them.

"Testing, again" , "Friday, again" - I'm loving your subject titles. They sound like school is winding down. :-)
Glad you're having a pretty good day. Talk to you soon!
