Okay, so I'm not exactly using my plan time for planning...however, I was at school 45 minutes before my required time, and I'm sure I will be here at least 5 minutes after my required time, so I don't feel badly. What a long sentence. :-)
Our copy machine is broken, so I am extremely happy that I took the time this morning to make some copies for the next couple of days. There is another, very old copy machine; but it will only make one-sided copies and takes forever. I thought I would be clever and just put the paper back into the paper tray to make copies on the back, but the librarian said that I couldn't do two-sided copies on that machine. I explained what I was going to do, but she kept saying that the copier couldn't do two-sided copies. Finally, after I kept standing there with a dumb look on my face (ha), she said that running the copies through after they have already been printed on "gums up" the rollers. Good explanation...I'll leave now. I was laughing at myself because I realize that I have to "understand" why I can't do something before I'm satisfied. (Oops, principal just walked in my room...why do I feel guilty? hee hee) Anyway, don't know if that thought is of any significance, but ah well. Blogs don't have to make sense, right?
Another little note: last year my Hispanic kids wouldn't dare speak Spanish when in the classroom, even when I asked them how to say a certain word (I guess they were embarrassed). This year, I have a Hispanic section (I didn't do it on purpose), and I am constantly hearing Spanish chatter while they are working together. One of the girls doesn't know English really well, and two of the others are really good students, so they explain things to her and help her out. Anyway, I enjoy hearing another language, even if they speak too quickly for me to understand. :-)

Hooray! A post! Allright.
I want to hear kids talking in Spanish. That sounds so fun.
I had a similar experience to your copy problem last night. It's funny when people try to tell you something but what they are saying doesn't make any sense.
I also have to know the "why" before I accept an answer. We'll just say we're curious. . .and that's an admirable quality!
Of course. Everything we are is admirable. :-) In fact, we define admirable.
