Curiosity

Yesterday afternoon I discovered a notice in my mailbox that I had missed a certified letter that the postman had tried to deliver. My immediate thought was, "Why on earth am I getting a certified letter?" I called the post office, and they said that the postman wasn't back yet, but if I came up around 5:45, he had to be back by six o'clock. So, I went. And I waited...and waited. The first time I reached the counter, they said he still wasn't back; the second time I reached the counter, they said that he was back but they couldn't find the letter. :-( So I wasted all of that time for nothing. This morning I called and talked to the postman (who is different from the one who delivered yesterday), and he said that he would look for it and leave it at the post office for me to pick up. All the while, I am left to wonder, "Who is it from?!" Evan is pessimistic; he says certified letters are never good (he even asked me if I have done something!). Other people are more optimistic and say that it will be good. :-) I guess we'll see!

Oh, I also found a snake in the backyard yesterday afternoon. It was about 7-8 inches long, and I couldn't tell whether or not it was a garter snake. So I put it in a water bottle to let Evan have a look (I figured we shouldn't kill it if it is only a garter snake). Well, by the time I got home from the post office, the snake had gotten out of the water bottle in our laundry room (I didn't screw the lid on very tight b/c I didn't want to suffocate it). However, the snake was just lying on the floor, and Evan promptly killed it. He said he would see what it was after its head was off. ha I guess I spared the snake's life for nothing. I do think it was a garter snake, though.

LOL, that is such an Evan thing. I can just see him squashing the snake!
