Don't really know what to title this blog. I have changed my shirt TWICE today. No, I'm not all of the sudden worried about what color looks best with my skin tone...I have a CHILD. That's right, folks, a child. Children leak. Some days worse than others. ;-) Earlier I had just finished feeding Nathan, and he was lying in my arms, stretched out, and looking at me...smiling (that should've been my first clue). Then came the grunting...and the red nose with flared nostrils. Okay, so, this isn't the first time, BUT I suddenly noticed that my shirt was wet, and so was he. Very, very nice. So, mommy cleaned up Nathan, changed his clothes (plus a poopy diaper), changed her clothes, and all was well. Fast forward forty-five minutes or so. Nathan was jumping in his jumpy chair, when some very strange, loud noises began coming from his direction of the room. Jodi started laughing, while I kept looking up, saying, "Was that HIM?!?!" Oh, yes, definitely him. So, I went, wiped off some spit up, and picked him up...Jodi started laughing again. I looked down...lovely color on the sleeve of my shirt...beautiful huge spot of the same color right in the middle of his back. ICK!!! So, back through the whole changing routine we go. Only this time, little Nathan-boo had to get a bath. He was very, very yucky. Whew. Anyway, just thought I'd share. I almost took pictures, but then I figured that might be too graphic for public display. Any-hoo.
Other than that, my day has been quite normal. I've been sorting through receipts for Evan (he wants them in order by month, and he has not done this task for over a year), so I can take over the checkbook and put everything on Quicken from here on out. I asked Evan if he would let me start doing the checkbook (meaning, balancing and all the other good stuff) because any time that he is not studying I do NOT want taken up by dumb things like balancing the checkbook, especially since he usually waits a while to balance then must spend almost an hour doing it. So, we are switching servers-ha. Since I will now be doing this task, I want everything done MY way...which is fine with Evan. I figure that I can keep on top of everything, and it won't take me as long as it usually takes him. So we'll see how it goes.
Oh, I read an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal today about several popular actresses in Egypt who are beginning to wear head scarves for religious reasons (Islam). Some Egyptians are against these women wearing head scarves b/c they claim that they are mixing too much religion in art (I guess they still think of television and movies as art). One man also said that the actresses are portraying a very conservative stance to an already-conservative society which will just make the society even more religiously conservative. Very interesting. Even more interesting, one of the women began wearing a head scarf at the very height of her career. When asked why, she said that she had been struggling for a long time, and she finally decided to do it for God b/c he had blessed her with a family, pregnancy, success, and fame. Hmmmmmm. (Hey, maybe the title of my post wasn't bad after all!) ;-)
