Voting

I had an interesting time trying to vote this morning. I didn't realize that the when I had my driver's license changed I should've filled out a form to switch my voter registration to the new place. I guess they offered the form to Evan when he went, but no one offered it to me. Wah, wah. ;-) So I had to go to my old polling place and vote. One of the ladies offered to hold Nathan while I was voting, and she gave him an "I Voted" sticker.

I got on the internet this morning to look up some more information about our candidates, and one of the sites Google pulled up was a Tulsan's atheist blog. I was curious, so I looked and found a video of a guy named Richard Dawkins. There were several other videos, and I noticed that he had one with Ted Haggard. All very interesting. Too bad Mr. Dawkins hadn't interviewed someone like Billy Graham or James Dobson. ;-) I am intrigued by his opinions. I am thinking of checking out a book of his from the library...and maybe some of C.S. Lewis as well. Is anyone scared that I will become an atheist? ;-) I suppose whenever I hear someone like him speak, it makes me want to know more on subjects such as evolution/creation because I realize how little I actually know. I mean, I have heard a lot, but I really need a refresher course. In my mind, I suppose I can't just let people say things like that and let it go. I must know what I would say should I by some strange chance meet someone like that. I'm rambling.

More rambling... I had SO much fun yesterday looking up candidates online to figure out for whom we would vote. We try not to just vote straight party without thinking; but in the end, even with the thinking, we voted straight party. I probably don't have to say which party. I was thinking about it last night, and I told Evan that I could NOT vote, in good conscience, with a party that stands for women's choice. I'm not saying that I agree with my particular party on everything, but on a lot of the major issues (to me) I do. I guess something like abortion does it for me, especially anyone who could be for partial birth abortions. Abortions and family...these things are important to me. I probably don't know all the facts, but from what I do know, I will continue voting the way I always have. Any thoughts?
