Rain

From what I hear, we've had over ten inches of rain since the first of the month. This week it has rained every day...and we have a chance of rain again tomorrow. Our grass in the sectioned-off part of our backyard looks lovely, but I can't take Nathan out there and probably won't be able to for a while! For now, our outside adventures are limited to taking walks whenever there is a break in the rain.
Today I ran to Barnes&Nobles, and while I was in line Nathan spotted the colorful display of mini-books. He looked at them, grinned at them, and squealed at them. The lady behind me remarked that he must be read to at home. ;-) He then noticed the lady and proceeded to look at her and point at the books. He kept making noises at her (the noises sound a little like Huh? in a cute baby voice), and she asked if he is always this friendly. :-) He has gotten friendly lately. Okay, so the other day I walked over to my neighbor's house to give her a letter that had been put in my mailbox. We stood there talking for a minute, and Nathan decided that he wanted her to hold him. She obliged. She is an elderly woman who is smaller than I am, so I decided to take him back after a few minutes because I know he can get heavy... well, he didn't want me. I had to unwrap his arms and take him away. He was grinning impishly the whole time. I mean, how is that supposed to make me feel? Maybe he's bored with me or something. I don't know.
Only one more night without my hubby! I do NOT like the times when he is gone! AT ALL. I let him talk to Nathan on the phone this morning, and I could hear Evan talking and saying, "Dada" to him. Nathan said "Dada" back to him, so I think Evan was happy to hear it. :-) Of course, then Nathan was looking around and saying "Dada" after he got off the phone, so that was a little sad.
Well, I should go. I doubt I will get much done during this nap time, but I'm not too concerned. :-) My whole schedule changes when I don't have to worry about cooking supper at night. ha
