Today was a good day. We went walking with Jodi and Elisha (neighbor and daughter) and picked pecans at the park. An elderly couple walked up and told us that we had competition (them), and Nathan ran over and just stood and stared. The lady asked if he was staring down the competition. :-) But then he gave her the two pecans he was holding. Nathan then ran over to her husband who was squatting down picking pecans, and he just stood and looked at the him. The man started talking to Nathan and showing him different things (sticks, pecans, etc.), and Nathan just listened and watched (and almost poked him in the eye with a stick). ;-)
I did my grocery shopping this morning, and I have swept my floor at least four times today. I went to Quiktrip this evening and met the man that the lady had wanted me to have look at my car. I was very unsure about him because she recommended him, but he seemed really nice. I even told him that we were a bit leery, and he said,"I can fix the car, but she rear-ended you; you can take the car wherever you want." So glad someone agrees with me!! Anyway, he has a body shop a little outside of Tulsa, and he fixes all of their cars, so he will give her a good deal. Now we just have to see if Evan approves (I think we might drive out there tomorrow).
Nathan is asleep, my floors are mopped, my kitchen is clean, but my husband isn't home. Hmph. This video is of Nathan running around with a towel on his head. He will bring the towel to me (after his bath), and say, "Peez, peez, peez." Which means, "Mommy, will you please put this towel on my head?" :-)
And, since I haven't written this down anywhere else, yet, I'll write it here. Words Nathan says:
please, thank you, ball, dog, Momma, Dada, Nathan, bug, cheese, highchair, lawnmower, Nonni, Poppi, Grandpa, Elisha, Hannah, juice, milk, more, okay, bear, fish ("shhhh"), duck, marble, hello, bye-bye, light, beep-beep, truck, cracker, outside, shoes, socks, diaper, bath, towel, banana, apple, pear, green beans, egg, slide, hair, eye, ear, nose, mouth, toes, boo boo, no, night-night
Those are all words he can say (as best he can) without me saying them first. He repeats words after me a lot, too. He said "store" today when I told him that we were going to the store, and he said "jacket" whenever I asked if he wanted me to take his jacket off. Granted, all of these words are not the clearest in the world. :-) As far as what he understands, oh my. I handed him a leash that had found its way into the living room and asked him to put it on top of the dog crate. This was the first day the crate was inside, and the first time he has ever seen the crate, so I didn't know if he would even know what I meant. He walked straight into the kitchen and tried his best to put that leash on top of the crate. :-) Of course, he also could've seen that the leash had started off on top of the crate and just figured that I wanted him to put it back. :-)
Wow, didn't you all want to know all of this?? Can you tell I am bored and really, really want my husband to come home??? ;-)
Goodnight.
