Lovely Day

The weather here is gorgeous, and I am loving every minute of it. My windows are open, my attic fan is on, and I am trying to stay motivated (this is my break - ha). Since my attic fan is on, most of the doors in the house have to be open...which means that I have to keep a pretty close eye on Nathan. But Nathan is quick, very quick.
The morning began in a decent way. I was up and read before Nathan woke up; even when he did wake up he was playing in his bed, so I just used the time to make blueberry pancakes while he was still confined. After breakfast, our neighbor called to see if we wanted to go walking. We did. We took a walk, played for a while, and I scooped more dog poop while Nathan played in the backyard with me (rocks, sticks, and dirt will keep a kid entertained FOREVER). We came inside, took a shower, and fed the kiddo lunch. I decided to wash my dishes while Nathan was playing in his room. I heard him crying, so I went to his room only to find him in his bed. I removed him and went back to washing dishes. I heard him crying again, saw him in his bed, and decided that he would stay there for a few minutes to understand that climbing in his bed wasn't that great an idea. He stopped crying quickly after that, and I discovered him OUT of his bed with his blanket. Great, my kid can climb in and out of his crib now. Just great. By the way, today was a first for the in and the out.
Nathan was starting to act fussy, so I knew naptime was soon. I thought I would finish the dishes first. I was checking on him every 30 seconds or so, and the last time I checked he was dragging his bean bag toward the kitchen. He didn't make it to the kitchen, so I went to check again. He was in the bathroom...with his blanket...hanging over the toilet. Guess what he did with his blanket when his dear mommy walked in the bathroom?? Yep, he dunked it in the toilet. I'm just glad that the load in the washer was done so that I could quickly put the blanket in to wash quickly.
So now I am sitting here, eating trail mix and taking a little "my time" for the day. I'm just hoping that he might take a two-hour nap like he did yesterday. Did I mention that I am VERY thankful for this beautiful weather?
