Last night I was ironing/sewing in the kitchen, trying desperately to finish a project before Evan got home (I failed, by the way), and Nathan decided that we were going to go on a hike. He had the hat in the picture on almost sideways on his head and a huge blow-up crayon in his hands. Evan had gone hiking yesterday, so Nathan wanted to have his own adventure I suppose. The best thing about it was that all I had to do was stand or sit there. He told me what we were doing, and I just made noises at the appropriate times. :-) He was just too cute with his hat on and his earnest little face as he described the cave in which there was "nothing to be afraid of" and what we were doing in the cave. I couldn't help smiling the whole time, regardless of the fact that I was tired and had just had to rip almost every seam out of my project and start over. ha
The other day I was talking about something we were going to do, and he told me, "That's a clever idea!"
I love it when his eyes light up and he gets the look in his eye that tells me he has had a grand idea which he is about to share with me. He usually begins with either "Do you know what?" or "I have an idea...you know what that is??" Generally the ideas have something to do with outside or walking to the park or giving him candy. :-)
He loves to play with Noelle and even comes up and says, "She's pretty, isn't she?" She will smile at him now, and he loves that she thinks he's funny. As he's coming toward her he'll say, "Here comes Bubba!"
Noelle is smiling a lot and really starting to "talk" to me. She had been doing really well sleeping at night, but the past two nights have not been fun. I am hoping it's not a pattern developing. ha I don't mind getting up a couple of times a night with her, but I don't like it when she doesn't want to go back to sleep. :-)
Well, that's all for now. Evan and Nathan are on their way back from taking Hannah to OKC, and I'll be happy to have them back home. :-)
