I am currently crossing my fingers and hoping that this batch of bread turns out okay. I spilled some coconut oil in my oven yesterday and forgot to clean it up whenever the oven cooled down. Today I am baking bread. I opened the oven earlier to check on the bread since I have a small piece baking (Nathan's), and smoke billowed out. Not good. I grabbed a chair and quickly removed our fire alarm before it started screeching out the fact that smoke was in the air (it is super sensitive and a slightly sore spot between Evan and me because of its location in the kitchen...it will go off when I'm not burning anything).

After the smoke cleared I looked and saw a wet-looking spot at the bottom of my oven. I hadn't realized that much oil had spilled, and I guess it had just gotten hot enough to smoke since I had made muffins earlier this morning without any ill effects. So now I am waiting. I shut the oven, turned it off, and waited for the timer to go off (15 minutes left). The bread wasn't done (surprise, surprise), so I turned the oven back on to heat up and turned it back off. ha We'll see what happens.
Okay, we had a little time lapse, and the bread is done!! The small loaves turned out just fine, so I'm happy!!!! Yay!!!
Noelle is now up, and she's in the floor chewing on squishy letters. She is lying on her back at the moment, though I have no doubt she'll be on her stomach in a minute. Now that she can roll over, she does not stay on her back long. Yep, she's already turned over. She doesn't roll to go anywhere; she just wants to be on her belly.
Nathan is currently taking a nap. I let him sleep on our bed since Noelle's naps haven't been very long lately, and I didn't want her to wake him up. He is getting much more clingy to me lately, and I think it's because his daddy has been gone so much. He always surprises me with new words and phrases, and when he says things wrong it stands out to me. He told me the other day that something was "too fin" for some reason or another (it wasn't thick enough). Then a couple of days ago he told me that he put something together "properly" and another time that he had put something in its "proper place." :-) What is really funny is to see him acting like a banshee then use words like that. ha
I should go. I really need to use my internet time to look up egg allergies. Fun, fun.

Ooooh, I feel your smoke detector pain. I hate ours with a passion. :-)
