Day Six - Social Studies Test

Today is the last day of testing! My kids are restless. After their specials this afternoon, they will be watching a movie, eating snacks, and playing games. That is what all of the fifth grade classes are doing since we tested all week. However, they have been a little difficult this morning, so I told them that I would not mind a bit if they had to work all afternoon and take their snacks back to their houses. Argh, argh, argh.

Three of my boys have a consistent problem: baggy britches. This morning in the gym I had to go through the whole "pull them up" routine again. It is not normal for the seat of your pants to be anywhere close to your knees!

Yesterday some of my boys were writing a story, and the story mentioned their hobbies: drinking, smoking, and stealing. I called them to my desk to talk to them about the story, but I am always amazed when they say what they have tried or have done or still do. Of course, they always ask me if I have smoked, drank, or ever been pulled over by a policeman. Ha. I do have to be careful about how vehemently I talk about those things, though, because I would be talking bad about their parents.

Okay, it is after recess (this is the never-ending blog), and I had an interesting situation. One of my boys was in trouble for saying things to some fourth grade boys. The fourth grade boys had said that they were going to get his sister pregnant, and his dad had told him that he better do something about it or he would be in trouble. I just told him that he could not threaten or beat up anyone on the school campus or it would go on his record. :-(

Gotta run!
