Drama Day

Our reading story this week is a play, so my kids want to act it out! We are going to try to do it in front of the school if they can handle it. This morning I started doing some auditions. Auditions are a really good reading activity! :-) They have to put feeling into their part and also read fluently. Anyway, they have started talking about creating a set and costumes, so I think I may be in over my head. Oh well. :-)

One of my students is giving me a little trouble this morning. He walked up to another student and just shoved him, for no reason. Well, he said that he was going to see if the other student would cry. Good reason? NO! He then chased a girl into the library and started running around. At this moment I am waiting (and praying) for the parents to call me back. The sad thing is that I'm impressed because I chewed him out and he didn't yell at me or walk away. ha I suppose every little step counts as progress. :-)

This afternoon we are doing a lesson that involves making paper airplanes. The lesson should be fun as long as they work together.

Bye!

To see if he would cry??? That's awful.
