Day Between Field Trips

Tomorrow is Exchange City! This week is just going by quickly. Of course, I am not sad about that. :-)

Alex had not been to school since Monday, and he finally came back today. He is the boy whose mother I thought was in jail. I called the grandparents this morning to check on him (he didn't get to school until later), and they confirmed my suspicions. Poor thing, I just want to give him a hug or take him home with me.

This morning has gone well. They are working on their speeches for Wax Museum (they dress up like their famous person and give a speech), and they also filled out their first deposit ticket for EC. This afternoon they have their running test and practice for promotion, so between those events I'll just be keeping them busy. They are doing fairly well at reading their book and bringing it back to school. I only had one kid today who did not bring the book back. Only 14 days left after today!! They had indoor recess today, and they made flowers out of construction paper and put them in an empty vase I had from Valentine's Day. :-) I ought to take a picture of them.

Only four minutes until they come back from the library, so I should make sure I am prepared for the afternoon. :-) Maybe we'll read and eat fig newtons. hee hee
