I have a student who has been absent a total of 16 days this year!! And he just showed up again today. The first time was a stretch of 10 days; he came back for two days; then he was gone again for six. Problems at home, I guess, but he is so far behind!!!! At least he is having a good attitude so far.
We got everything ready for science this morning, and now my room smells of dried onions. Bleh. They will be testing 8 different foods and five different liquids for starch, protein, fat, and glucose over the next eight weeks. It is a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work. The good thing is that these kids will actually do the work themselves without killing each other. ha!
Speaking of killing each other, we went outside this morning and practiced firing our guns (dowel rods) like the British and Patriot soldiers would have. We had to (pretend) load them and everything. They were so cute!
For the nausea-conscious, I am doing well again today. Yay!!! During breakfast I had a short wave of nausea come over me, but I just banged my water bottle around for a minute while looking at the ceiling (much to Evan's dismay, but it took my mind off of the nausea!), and it was over quickly. ha! Hey, all future pregos should take note!! This could be a sure-fire way to fight nausea!!! ;-)

Is that supposed to be a hint?
Yes.
I'll wait and get your book when it comes out. ;-)
I am not accepting the hint - I don't like kids.
Scrooge.
You have to like at least one kid - little baby Byrd. ;-)
Little baby BIG Byrd
