Wonderful Day

I was thinking about the title and hoping that I don't jinx my day by saying it, but today has really been a good day. I feel good, my class is being (fairly) good, and I don't have students tomorrow (just conferences). :-)

My students were asking interesting questions this morning during morning work, and they started by one student coming to me and saying, "Did you know that Jesus is God's Son?" Then came the questions, "Are you a Jew?", "Was Jesus a Jew?", and "Have you seen the Passion of the Christ?" Very interesting questions, indeed.

I am reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to the class. Some of them have heard it before, but they all love it. I have never read the book before (seen the movie), so after Charlie's grandpa spends his only money to buy a chocolate bar and there is no golden ticket inside, I told them that the book was too sad and I couldn't read anymore. :-) They hastened to assure me that it got better, and I read on. I am enjoying the book immensely. The only problem is finding another book to read aloud that they will enjoy just as much.
