Rough Night

So, yeah, I am a little tired. Just a little. I got about two hours of sleep last night. Around Nathan's bedtime last night we took his temperature, and it was 104.3 degrees. Ick. It was about time for his next dose of motrin (the nurse had told me to alternate between that and tylenol), so I went ahead and gave him that and called the nurse on call. She said that as long as it didn't get 105 or more, he was still drinking, and he was still acting okay that everything should be fine. She also told me to just give him tylenol because it seemed to work better on reducing fever. The bad thing was that we couldn't give him more medicine until eleven. He slept on and off until eleven, spending most of his time in the living room with us. His temp only came down about a degree or so that whole time. At eleven I gave him tylenol and put him in his bed, but that only lasted about 30 minutes. So we put him in bed with us. I am definitely not co-sleeping material; that's for sure. He slept okay for the next four hours, but I only dozed a couple of times. I can't sleep if I think that any move I make will wake him up. He woke up at four this morning, and his temp was 102 degrees, which was pretty good considering he hadn't had medicine in five hours. I gave him more tylenol and laid on the couch with him, letting him suck on ice in a washcloth and putting a wet washcloth on his head. We laid there about an hour before he finally went to sleep. He was so funny because he kept making a monkey sound and saying "monkey." ha He slept until eight, and he only had a temp of 101. I gave him more tylenol, and his temp was down to 99 degrees before he went down for his nap at 10:30. I can tell he feels much better this morning; I'm just trying to decide whether or not we want to go to the walk-in clinic today. Anyway, that was my night.
