Cleaning

One of my favorite things about being a stay-at-home-mom is that I get to do so much with my kiddo. Here is our day so far. We got up this morning, and I made oatmeal with apricots for me and the boy. He actually saw me get out the bag of dried apricots and started running around the kitchen, picking up all the lids he had scattered, and putting them away. I guess he knows that I usually make him put away whatever he is playing with (if he has made a mess) before he can have a snack. ha I read my Bible some at breakfast and after breakfast; then I exercised. Exercise schedule for today: 1) stretching and leg lifts, 2) help Nathan put his animals in his toy, 3) a little cardio and some crunches, 4) smell something yucky and change a diaper, 5) more crunches and squats, 6) round out my routine with a good book, Pig Picnic.
I then took a shower; Nathan was strapped in his booster seat on the bathroom floor with some books. After my shower we cleaned both bathrooms. Since the mommy had gloves on her hands, the boy had to have a glove, too. ;-) I cleaned the bathroom, and he "helped." He cleaned his potty chair (no worries, it has never had anything other than water in it) while Mommy cleaned the big potty and sink. He got really industrious once I gave him a sponge and decided to go to his room saying, " 'lock, 'lean," "tactow, 'lean." Meaning: Block clean, tractor clean. At that point I ran in the other room and whipped out my camera for the above pictures. :-) He does love to help. I do have a bit more cleaning to do whenever he helps me, but he enjoys the whole experience, and it usually only takes about two minutes to clean up after him. AND that means I get to use his naptime for things I want to do instead of doing all of my cleaning while he is sleeping. ha I'm also hoping that if he starts helping me now we will establish a pattern. ;-)
I am in a much better mood today than I was yesterday, and my teeth haven't hurt at all today. Of course they don't hurt today; they know that I already caved and made a dentist appointment. What do you bet if I cancelled, they would start hurting again??? Anyhoo, the kitchen floor is calling.

This might rank as one of my all-time-favorite Rachel posts. :-)
