Weekend

My weekend has been great. My parents actually came up on Thursday because my Dad had some work in the area, and my brother and his girlfriend surprised us by coming up Friday night. Papah actually came this (Saturday) morning, and we spent all day together. I do like my family. :-) However, I do not recommend miniature golf with a 19-month-old. ha It's almost more work than fun. Nathan did as well as could be expected, especially since we were there about an hour into his normal nap time.
My main reason for posting: Nathan update. He has been putting words together a lot lately, but tonight was the first time it really clicked with me. I was changing his diaper, and Jolie was helping Evan wash dishes (and she had just told Nathan that she was washing dishes). As he is lying there having his diaper changed he said, "Jolie." I repeated. He said, "Wash," and rubbed his hands together. I repeated. He said, "Dishes." I have never actually heard him say "dishes" before, although he hears it all the time (just a minute, Mommy is washing dishes), but he said it as plain as day. ha Anyway, he used a subject, verb, and direct object! hee hee Here are a few other word combinations he uses: play outside, Daddy's home, boots on, dogs out, Monty hush, sit down, yes please, library closed, book read, "name" coming, and that's all I can think of right now. Goodness my eyes are tired. I think I spent more time out in the sun today than I have for the past week!
