Sunday evening we went to our church's Christmas illustrated sermon. I had talked Evan into going (after being gone the whole weekend) because I really wanted Nathan to see. I had forgotten how much sermon was in the illustrated sermon. :-)
Nathan was pretty good, considering. I had thought Nathan loves to hear stories without remembering how many questions Nathan asks during the story...
The main questions of the night? "Where are the soldiers? Are they going to fight?" ha We also had a "Where's Goliath?" thrown in there, too. Obviously, the only story we generally read that has soldiers is the one about David and Goliath (and right now it is merely the Goliath story). I got rather tickled listening to Evan answer those questions at least twenty times in a row. Nathan would watch intently as the people played out the story and sang; but as soon as everyone got quiet and the pastor would continue the sermon, Nathan would begin the questioning again. "Where did the goats go? Where are the soldiers? The soldiers gonna fight?" Oh my. When he saw the baby onstage, he told us, "I want to go see the baby!"
We actually made it through eighty percent of the sermon. I suppose that is good for his age. :-)
