Oh, I actually took off part of the pipe under the sink, unclogged it, and put it back on!!! I was pretty proud of myself. ha Nasty but worth it. I was able to continue on with my day without worrying about the sink.
My gumbo turned out wonderful. I was so happy because I love gumbo but hate using the mixes which generally have MSG in them. Evan ate two big bowls of it, but Nathan only ate the shrimp out of it. ha He did not like the okra.
Today I made a batch of cinnamon candy and am in the process of baking my pumpkins. Nathan made me laugh because he would NOT scoop out the pumpkin seeds for me. He said, "My hands will get dirty!" humph As if that's ever been an issue. ha ha I guess the texture was just too much for him. :-)
I'm glad the weekend is almost here. I think Grandmother and Nathan can only do small amounts of time together. Daddy will be home tomorrow; then Nathan cares for no one but him. Grandmother is just a wee bit jumpy and gets super excited (not happily excited) whenever Nathan needs redirection. ha Things that I say, "Nathan stop doing that and come do this" get a "OH! No, no, no!!" from Grandmother. And she's quite funny to hear as she says it. Just ask Nathan. He starts laughing like a madman and spazzing out.
She likes to read to him, but she also gets frustrated when he wants to play with his train while she's reading. He wants her to read, but she wants him to sit quietly beside her as she does. :-) So when he's made to sit beside her he finds all sorts of ways to make a nuisance of himself: putting his face two inches from hers, sticking his foot in front of the book, etc. ha She's been reading Dr. Doolittle to him, and he really likes the book. However, it doesn't have pictures, and he likes to play while listening. The first time I read it to him (the time we read all 144 pages in two sittings) he sat beside me the whole time and played with his silly putty, but I don't expect that of him every day! Overall, though, her visit is going well.
Gotta run!
