Kids and Thumbs

My children seem to like their thumbs. Hmmmm. We just broke Nathan of sucking his thumb (it was much easier than I thought it would be), and now Noelle seems to be starting. I walked into their room late this morning to check on her toward the end of her morning nap, and I discovered a happily awake child who was sucking her thumb. With Nathan I did not push the pacifier much, so I thought maybe I could get Noelle to take one. Nope. She's not interested. I may have some luck if I did like the Russian hospitals and tape it in her mouth, but I don't think I'm that concerned about it. ha I'm just wondering why my kiddos don't like pacifiers.
Last night Noelle slept the best she's slept her whole life! :-) Her schedule got a little off yesterday, so she was eating around 8:20 last night instead of 7:00. I decided to just leave her in bed instead of trying to get another feeding in, and she slept until 3:00 this morning! After eating, she slept until 6:45, was up until 8:20, and slept until 11:00 (and that was on her back!). I'm wondering if she's just going through a growth spurt or something, or if she is starting to stretch out the time between her feedings. No clue. :-)
Nathan has been fairly content this morning. He played really well while I got Salsa, Chicken, and Black Bean soup in the crockpot for tonight and cooked all my turkey sausage. We will not be going outside today, so I'm glad he's playing so well indoors. Right now he's got some frogs strapped to the giraffe's back with a rubber band and is playing with them. :-) This morning I started reading The Cricket on the Hearth to him, but I'm not sure how that will go. He listens just fine; I just don't know if I should be reading something to him when I don't even know all the words. ha ha After the third time through Dr. Doolittle, I am looking for anything different.
Speaking of not knowing all the words, I need to look a few up on M-W.com to check my pronunciation. ;-)
