Blogging???

I'm trying desperately to get some good habits going on around here. I've put my foot down with Nathan and his thumb-sucking. I don't think I would worry except for his teeth starting to move forward. Sooooo, no movies for him until he starts trying not to suck his thumb. Right now he doesn't try at all to stop, so any movement in that direction would be appreciated.

Nathan actually said that he missed Noelle today when she was down for a nap. He said it was more fun when she was awake to play with. :-) I was kind-of happy she was down for a nap so I could finish her other red shoe. ha I also used that time to read to Nathan. I'm trying to get back into our routine of Bible stories and chapter books. I've yet to plan out my next step in phonics/reading. I don't think it's going to be huge, but I still need a little time to prepare and wrap my head around my goals.

We have been going outside right after lunch lately, and it's actually fairly warm in our backyard because it's closed off and the heat radiates off the bricks on our house. I was hot a couple of times today. Nathan and Noelle decided that playing on the slide would be fun, and Nathan really enjoyed "helping" Noelle down the slide. I finally got him to stop kicking her down the slide, although she didn't mind a bit. She scared me one time, though, when they came down together and her leg got caught up under her. She started crying then tried to walk and fell. I checked her then set her down, and when she put her weight on that one leg, she just fell again. I took off her shoes and pants so I could see her leg, and I rotated her foot and massaged her leg, then off she went. ha I don't know if she pulled something or what.

I'm totally not paying attention to my punctuation, and it's bothering me. But I can't think too much or I wouldn't blog. :-)

I started my kombucha today. I don't know if we'll like it, but a lady in our homeschool group had a scoby to get rid of, and I took it! ha I told Evan that it's my first attempt into the world of making my own alcoholic beverages. ;-) Don't worry, it only has very small amounts of alcohol in it. I think.

Nathan was just beautiful until 4 o'clock or so. Then he would not stop pestering his sister and going bonkers all over the house. ?? I wish I knew what flipped that switch. He goes from being a completely lovable, adorable boy to an obnoxious little boy really quickly. He always seems to calm down if I read to him, but it isn't always possible to drop everything and read every time he starts going crazy. I usually try to just make him sit in a chair and look at books. *Sometimes* that works.

Have I mentioned that I love having my husband around? Yeah, I do. Even though he got home late tonight and we had to eat without him. ;-)
