Nathan

Nathan hadn't eaten much today, and whenever he would eat or drink anything, it would result in ejection. This evening he had one final evacuation of his stomach (just the water he had sipped); then about ten minutes later he calls me in the livingroom and says that he wants a burrito. I said, "Burrito? You mean, a tortilla?"
"Yeah, a tortilla, with beans in it, and sour cream."
I tried to convince him otherwise, but his heart was set on it. I figured throwing up something might be better than throwing up nothing as he did before, so I got it ready for him. I heard him talking in the livingroom as I was getting it ready and wondered if he was talking to himself. I took him his burrito then heard him talking again. I looked around the corner, and he was saying, "Please, Father God, don't let me throw up this burrito after I eat it. Please."
I walked in there, and he told me that he was praying and wanted me to pray, too. I prayed then told him that sometimes our bodies need to throw up to get rid of things that shouldn't be in them. He told me that he had asked God not to let him throw up.
The whole time he was eating he was praying out loud, "Please, Father God, don't let me throw up this burrito." I heard some other stuff about mischief and not letting Satan make him throw up. I was doing a little talking to God myself but was then reminded Who loved the boy more. ;-) Okay, God, I've got him talking to you, I suppose you can take it from there.
He is in bed now, and that burrito remains inside him.
