This morning Nathan woke up about 6:30...not too unusual. I thought he would sleep in a bit longer because I took him to a birthday party last night and he spent a good thirty minutes running and kicking a basketball. It didn't work out that way. So I got up with him and started reading. I couldn't focus too well on reading because I kept trying to figure out whether or not I was going to drive a little over an hour to where our friends were camping and spend the day with them. I finally put down my Bible, made the decision not to go, and started reading again. (I finally figured out that I was distracted after reading the same words over and over without having the slightest clue of what I was reading.) I read a couple of books to Nathan (we're currently on a Bill Peet kick) and went back to my room to change. Evan said, "What are we doing today?" "Um, you're studying, I guess..." No response from him. "We could go spend the day at the lake with Bob and Sarah," I said. "Okay, let's do that." ????
So I went into warp speed trying to get everything ready to leave. I boiled eggs, made hamburger patties, cut up and marinated squash to grill, and got everything packed. Evan and Nathan ran to the store for a few things, including Nathan some water shoes...the boy will NOT stay in a shoe size long enough lately! Noelle kept me company while I was rushing around. :-)
We had a wonderful time. Noelle was a little grouchy once it got to her naptime, and she slept less than an hour on the way home (Nathan slept longer than she did). So Noellee-belle was a bit grouchy
this evening. But it was worth it. Nathan got to swim in the lake and was thrown into the water several times by a very obliging relative of Sarah's. ;-) Noelle actually let me go waist-deep into the water while holding her, which was an improvement. She loves bath water but is just not sure about the lake thing. :-) Nathan was happy to be with his friend Miriam, and I think she was a bit happy to see him, too.

Now Evan is off studying, and I've been trying to get my house a little bit back in order. I have even been doing some planning. I mainly got on the computer because my Terry Clark songs did not transfer to my MP3 player on the first try. NOW look where that got me!
