Which, perhaps, is why I am blogging again.
The weathermen say that rain is a very high probability for through Friday. I'm very thankful I got several books on tape from the library last Friday. ;-) We brought a (huge) tape player in from the garage a couple of weeks ago so Nathan could listen to some tapes we had. He loves being able to put in his own tapes and listen. So I've started requesting books on tape from the library. He is currently listening to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and he has Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, as well. We have lots of other books, but it is so nice for him to be able to listen to books when I'm not available to read or am unable to jump up and put on a c.d. for him. He is laughing his way through Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. ha
This weekend Evan and I did a concealed carry class while my parents watched the kiddos. It was quite interesting. It's amazing how much there is to know about all the laws and such. I was also very thankful that I easily qualified in the shooting portion of the class. ha I had only ever shot a rifle, and not even that very many times. But I am now happy to say that I can load, unload, and shoot a handgun. ;-) The only thing that made me jumpy was all the shooting going on around me...and the casings from the guy beside me hitting me every time he shot (and we were shooting at the same time). Evan said that my casings were hitting him, but I think it's very different to get hit in the leg with a casing than to get hit in the shoulder/chest with a casing while you're trying to aim. I was at a severe height disadvantage. ha Anyway, it's done! I saw some 60+ ladies out there doing a class, and I couldn't help but think, "Hey, if they can do this, I can do this!" I don't think I'll actually carry much, but I thought it would be a good thing to have just in case I ever feel the need.
And a random fact: I have a 6/06 and a 9/09...but I won't have a 12/12. For some reason that bothered me. Isn't that weird? Of course, that's not counting the 08/07. Ah well. ;-)
