Still going!

I know this blogging streak won't last, but hasn't it been fun while it's lasted?  :-)
We have had a busy day today.  This morning I dropped Noelle off at a friend's house and picked up that friend's girl (who is Nathan's age).  We went to a co-op pick up to get my order and hers.  I took our big kids and let them help unload the truck (it was really funny to see them working together to carry a 25-pound bag of oats to the right location).  The two of them always crack me up, especially the talk that went on in the back of the van all the way there.  (For the record, Nathan is going to have a black stallion when he grows up, and Miriam is going to have a white horse and name her Daisy.)
I brought my co-op things and dropped them off at the house and grabbed our lunch then headed to my friend's house for playtime and lunch.  So nice.  I even get to hold her sweet baby.  :-)
Noelle napped and Nathan and I did school once we got home.  Today was Nathan's first day to start learning piano, and he has really enjoyed it!  The exercises are so simple, but he has seen progress throughout the afternoon as he practiced.  The main things I worked on today were his hand position (all fingertips resting on the keys) and ability to press down each finger independently (surprisingly hard for him).  He had to practice again one more time before bed.  :-)
Oh, and he is still trying to stop sucking his thumb.  He may need extra assistance for the during-his-sleep sucking, but for now, at least he is not intentionally doing it.
Evan is working LATE tonight; he said he might not be home until past eleven.  Maybe that is why I am blogging.  ha  The kids and I had a good evening, though.  We ate supper and then made oatmeal/chocolate chip/raisin cookies.  Yummy.
Have I mentioned the cicada killers that are nesting under our deck?  We have swarms of them.  They look crazy wicked, but they are not known to sting unless you hold them in your hand and squeeze them (and even then it's only like a pinprick...so the man said).  Well, Nathan loves to go outside with a flyswatter and have at them.  It's quite wonderful.  They also bring dead cicadas to our deck and leave them on the deck if the boards are too close together in the area they are trying to get through.  So we have lots of dead cicadas in our house at present.  :-)  Noelle LOVES them.  She won't believe that they are dead.  And she did cut one to pieces the other day.
