1st Day

Okay, I'm holding my breath. It is 11:00 a.m., and I am trying to figure out what to do with my class. How do you actually handle good kids?? Jackie says I should still "bark" at them for the first few weeks just to get my bluff in, but I'm having a hard time! Granted, my "special" girl has already told me that I look Chinese, smell like a lot of dogs (she was saying she was surprised that I had only two), and must have attended a Japanese college. :-) hee hee

This morning one of my former students came up to school with his brothers and sisters. He found me and gave me a big hug. He did not get into the school he wanted, but he says that he can transfer in a week. He said he didn't get in because he was "bad." Truth be known, I told him last year that I did not give him a very good recommendation because of his behavior (I couldn't put my reputation on the line when he acted like that). Anyway, he seemed happy to see me, and I was glad that he will not be in my class this year. :-) Gotta run!

Yay! I forgot how much I love your mid-morning posts. :-) I was thinking there was no way you'd be able to post on the first day of school, but hooray, you did.

Call me whenever you can! I'm here today, but I'll be back at home tomorrow.
