Moving on

Friday was an interesting day. Thursday evening Evan went up to the school with me and helped me load all of my stuff and bring it back to the house. Friday morning I stopped at the grocery store on the way to work to pick up something for the breakfast, and I realized that I didn't have my debit card....or my driver's license. Not a good feeling. I knew immediately what had happened; I had put them both in my back pocket when we took a field trip because I didn't want to carry my purse around all day. I rushed back home to check my jeans (which I almost always wear on field trips so I can wear tennis shoes), and I could not find them. I searched everywhere and could not find them. So, I called a friend at work and asked if they could come and get me since I didn't want to drive without my license (although I already had been for about a week). When I got to work, I was explaining the situation to Jackie, and I slapped my back pocket for emphasis....and can you guess what I felt in the back pocket of my capris? Oh yes, they were right there, and I guess I don't always wear jeans on field trips. ha So I felt very stupid but relieved. ;-)

After the breakfast at work we had to have a staff meeting, and during the discussion of many matters that meant nothing to me, Nathan began bouncing around. :-) So, naturally, I began watching my stomach. Then Jackie put her hand on my stomach, and people around the room started paying more attention to my bouncing stomach than the principal. ha The principal finally had to stop and see what was going on (which slighly embarrassed me) before she could continue her talking. :-) Hey, it's not MY fault that my baby is so visibly active!

I finished up the random things in my room that needed to be done Friday afternoon, and I left. I felt very odd walking out of the building and my room knowing that I would not be coming back as a teacher. However, I am now completely over the odd feeling and very happy about the whole situation. :-)

Saturday morning we got a crib and did a few things in the baby's room, so now the room actually looks more like a baby's room. :-)
